Building automation – secure networking for any use
myGEZE Connectivity elevates building automation to an all new level. Optimally tailored to your requirements – for more convenience, efficiency and sustainability.
Building safety
With myGEZE Control, access authorisations can be precisely controlled and monitored.
myGEZE Control ensures even more safety in any building. This makes it possible to easily and quickly check the status of individual components, for instance to determine whether windows and doors are closed. The system also improves the functional safety of emergency exit systems and smoke and heat extraction through smart networking.
Example application scenarios
How can schools' safety be increased? Networked building automation can provide valuable services. It allows responsible persons to monitor the operating modes of automatic doors and lock them any time if necessary – for instance during specific, dangerous situations. Status monitoring for the integrated systems, like doors, windows and safety systems, is possible at any time. An automated, timed switching device ensures reliable operation.
Shopping centres are building complexes with elevated safety requirements. With the automatic control unit, facility managers can react immediately in case of an emergency and lock exterior or intermediate doors.
Building automation is used in nursing homes and hospitals, for instance, to separate different wards or secure exits. Intelligent building control units ensure that residents with physical or intellectual disabilities cannot accidentally open outside doors and leave the protected building, leaving them without any supervision.
Sustainability
With myGEZE Control, doors and windows can be integrated into all areas of building management.
The intelligent combination of window drives and heating, climate control and lighting systems is a major factor in determining a building's energy efficiency and sustainability. This creates climate-active façades, for instance, which are automatically controlled with sensors. In addition to cost savings, this also saves energy – which helps protect the environment.
Example application scenarios
The right ventilation plays an important role in energy-saving concepts for buildings. Ventilation systems can be controlled with the help of myGEZE Control, and the temperature can easily be adjusted in individual areas, for instance by automatically switching off the heating when the temperature reaches a certain level. Better air quality ultimately influences the health of employees working in the building – which in turn results in fewer work-related absences and better productivity. Smoke and heat extraction system windows which are already present can also additionally function as ventilation windows, providing a smart double use.
Interoperability is the keyword here – ensuring different subsections work together in the building automation allows for positive energy efficiency management. This enables smart window drive networking, for instance, with heating systems for sustainable control of the temperature and ventilation.
As a leading manufacturer of door, window and safety technology, our certified product quality guarantees highly durable solutions. In addition, with GEZE Service, we offer multiple innovative service concepts to fully utilise our products' service lives. Intelligent use of our products through optimised building processes makes it possible to further extend their service lives through reduced run cycles. Doors in high-traffic areas, for instance, can be held open during peak hours, improving both convenience and energy efficiency.
Comfort
myGEZE Control enables targeted door planning and automated processes.
Comfort inside a building means, on the one hand, ensuring that the air quality and room temperature create an atmosphere of well-being. On the other hand, myGEZE Control is convenient for operators and facility managers to use for networking with myGEZE Control – for instance through targeted door planning and automated processes that improve accessibility.
Example application scenarios
A good indoor climate is important to help residents, employees or visitors to a building feel good, and to ensure there is no risk to their health. Automatic ventilation concepts are a major advantage in this respect. In the summer, for instance, night-time cooling can be used by ensuring windows open as soon as the outside temperature drops – cooling the building down. Smoke and heat extraction system windows which are already present can also fulfil an added function as ventilation windows, a smart double use.
When it comes to convenience, smart networking has even more to offer to simplify the work of building operators and facility managers in particular. Doors can be locked automatically from a certain time, eliminating the need for security personnel. Security rounds and long walking routes through buildings to switch over the doors are no longer needed. For facility management, this means more flexible personnel planning and cost savings. Overall building operation is more efficient with the right door solutions. Accessible entrances are useful, not only for persons with mobility restrictions – they also allow robots to be integrated into everyday building operations. Last but not least, building safety improves with networked automation, thanks to building monitoring and options like setting up a night mode.
Monitoring & remote access
Networking doors and windows with myGEZE Control makes condition monitoring of all windows and doors more digital - and more reliable.
More safety doesn’t need to be complex – when equipped with GEZE technology, doors, windows and safety systems can be operated, monitored and visualised digitally and reliably with the help of building management software. This can also be done remotely via smartphone.
Example application scenarios
The digital visualisation provides the facility manager with an overview of all components at all times. This way, they can, for instance, immediately see if an access point is not locked. This eliminates the need for additional personnel for security rounds.
Error messages from the different systems reach responsible persons directly, allowing them to react immediately via remote access to initiate maintenance.
If sabotage is detected, the error message is sent directly to the right group of persons, so facility managers or security personnel can react immediately, for instance to lock doors, operate alarm systems, etc. Since they can do all of these things via remote access, there is no need for time-consuming travel and the system can be restored more quickly.
Avoiding worse outcomes – the networked system not only reports technical faults when the product has already malfunctioned, but also provides advance warnings, for instance through a maintenance message (to clean roller carriages, for example). This allows facility managers to react promptly, before a system fault occurs.
