Which products can be networked?

The system offers many different options for smart building networking based on the user's needs. Different GEZE products can be integrated into the building management system and controlled via myGEZE Control: These include our automatic door systems (sliding doors, swing doors, revolving doors), our window technology, smoke and heat extraction systems), escape and rescue route technology, as well as our hold-open systems. In addition, other manufacturers' products can also be integrated into the system.
How can products be networked?
Networking with myGEZE Control and integrating GEZE products into building automation provides you with a smart and individually configurable solution. Depending on the hardware configuration, up to 200 GEZE products can be integrated into the building automation control system (expandable on request). Thanks to the BACnet and/or OPC UA and KNX communication standards, which all stand for secure and reliable data exchange, you can reliably control and monitor your building. OPC UA is recommended by the German Federal Office for Information Security (BSI) as a secure standard for building and industrial automation, thus ensuring a particularly high level of cyber resilience. This enables building operators and facilities managers to manage the networking of trades and components in a detailed and clear manner and to coordinate them optimally.

We provide a standardised, open communication solution for integrating doors, windows and security into all areas of building management. The central device is a standard controller (PLC). The hardware component consists of an embedded PC control system with certified communication interfaces such as BACnet and/or OPC UA. This means our products can be integrated into all commonly available building automation control systems, physical security information management systems, and CAFM systems. These open standards enable a wide range of interoperable applications with other subsections, such as blinds, weather stations, heating, ventilation and room automation.
The integration of BACnet and/or OPC UA not only enables flexible networking, but also secure communication thanks to state-of-the-art encryption and authentication methods that meet the latest cybersecurity requirements in building automation.

Thanks to open interfaces, we can integrate our window and door drives into a building automation and control system to create a variety of usage scenarios. These help the operator make processes in their building more efficient. With central monitoring and remote control, users can view and change the statuses of doors and windows. Networking doors and windows with other product groups makes it possible to use collected data to implement door and window drive functions that save energy – like natural ventilation. System data can also be used to improve the maintenance cycles for GEZE products. Last but not least, the data can also be used to control danger management, so that doors and windows reliably fulfil their safety functions in an emergency like a fire or active shooter, while handling accessibility needs every day.

With myGEZE Control, we are making everyday work easier for building operators. Thanks to remote monitoring and remote access, facility managers can monitor and change the statuses of their doors and windows at any time. This allows them to adjust door functions to their needs during ongoing operation. The networking systems collect a wide range of data, which can then be used to optimise processes in the building and maintenance cycles, thereby minimising downtimes.
